The Community Market is a thrift store where clothing, books and magazines, toys, small electronics and household goods are collected and sold by donation prices set by staff. Keeping these materials in circulation extends their useful life and keeps them out of the landfill. The Market also serves as a source of basic necessities for those on low incomes.
The Community Market could not thrive without its substantial volunteer commitment. We always welcome help to sort and to organize donations. There are also paid staff that facilitate the thriving trade in goods at the Market. The Market also provides an opportunity for participants in Ministry of Housing and Social Development Community Volunteer Programs to receive training and skill development in a retail environment.
Hours: The Market is open from 9.00am until 4.00pm Monday through Friday, as well as 11.00am to 6.00pm on weekends.
Donations: We welcome donations of good, reusable household items. Please see a Market staff member when dropping off donations, to ensure we can accept the item and that it finds its correct place in the Market.
Bag Sales: Fill a black plastic garbage bag of clothing or fill a small white grocery-type bag of market items for a donation of $5. Not all items are included in bag sales. Please ask Staff for more details.
